1810-Newspaper editor James M. Goodhue is Born. He established the territory's first newspaper in 1849, the Minnesota Pioneer.
1847-Seth Eastman takes command of Fort Snelling, For the fourth and final time.
1918-The famed Norwegian explorer, Roald Amundsen, addressed a large audience in Duluth about the on-going battle of WW1
1934-At the Lincoln Court Apartments, a shootout between John Dillinger and the FBI occurs. He did escape, but was later shot to death by FBI Agents in Chicago
