Two people from South Dakota were killed yesterday afternoon when an International Tractor 1086 with a farm trailer separated on Highway 19 in Arlington Township. The couple from Aberdeen South Dakota were riding a motorcycle at the time of the crash. 

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at 4:04 P.M. a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle, being driven by 60-year-old Marvin Fandrich of Aberdeen, South Dakota, was heading Eastbound on Highway 19. An International Tractor 1086, driven by 60-year-old Curtis Petzel of Arlington, with a farm trailer was heading Westbound on Highway 19.

While heading Westbound the farm trailer separated from the tractor and traveled into the Eastbound lane where the Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with it. After the collision both the farm trailer and the motorcycle entered the Eastbound Ditch of Highway 19.

Also on the motorcycle at the time of the crash was  61-year-old Kathy Fandrich of Aberdeen, South Dakota. Both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the crash and alcohol is not believed to have been involved in the crash. Petzel was uninjured according to the State Patrol report.

Responding along with the Minnesota State Patrol to the scene were the Henderson Police Department, Henderson Fire/Rescue, Ridgeview Ambulance, Arlington Ambulance, and the Sibley County Sheriff's Office.
