Another busy day in MN History

1830-Tales of the Northwest, a collection of stories about fur traders and indians is published in Boston by William Snelling.  He was the Josiah Snelling's son who Fort Snelling was named after.

1852-Minnesota approved the prohibition bill, but was declared unconstitutional in November.

1876-The Bohemian Reading and Educational Society of McLeod County orders a set of Czech readers.

1904-Pulitzer Prize winning poet Richard Eberhart is born in Austin

1929-A tornado kills 3 as it moves from Lake Minnetonka acress to Minneapolis and Fridley

1937-The People's Lobby occupies part of the capitol while demonstrating for a depression relief Bill.
