Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Super Bowl Host Commission is now accepting applications from people willing to to serve as volunteer ambassadors next year when the Twin Cities hosts the big-game at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

The commission issued a statement Wednesday indicating it hopes to sign up 10,000 people to assist in welcoming the hundreds of thousands of visitors expected for the NFL contest and the festivities leading up to the Super Bowl. It should be noted that none of the volunteers will be assigned to duties inside the stadium.

Those wishing to join the volunteer team, which is known as Crew 52, need to be able to commit to three or more shifts during the 10-day Super Bowl festival in Minnesota. They’ll be stationed throughout the Twin Cities, at airports, transit hubs, hotels and in skyways to provide assistance to visitors.

Anyone wishing to sign up, is asked to logon to the website www.mnsuperbowl.com/Crew52
