SEMAC is the Southeast Minnesota Arts Council, and they awarded 52 grants that totaled over $311,525. SEMAC awarded grants to applicants from many different counties including Fillmore, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Dodge, Goodhue, Winona, Wabasha, Steele, Rice and Steele.

This is really cool as the money was split to many different categories, this included $229,620 for Arts & Cultural Heritage grants, $20,00 in General Operating Support, $9,000 for School Residencies, $32,165 in Presenter/Production Assistance, and $20,470 for Small Towns/Rural Areas grants.

Here are the Fillmore County grant recipients:

  • Chatfield Brass Band received a $3,000 Small Towns/Rural Areas grant for 2018 Music in the Park Summer Concert Series.
  • Chatfield Center for the Arts received a $3,000 Small Towns/Rural Areas grant for Production Support 2018.
  • Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center received a $10,000 Arts & Cultural Heritage grant for 2018 Stringwood Chamber Music Festival.
  • Lanesboro Arts Center received a $10,000 Arts & Cultural Heritage grant for Performing Artist Engagement Program.
  • Lanesboro Barn Dance received a $2,470 Small Towns/Rural Areas grant for 2018 Lanesboro Barn Dance Series.
  • Northland Words received a $10,000 Arts & Cultural Heritage grant for Roguish Peasant Slave: Original Shakespeare-inspired Music and Play.
  • Rushford-Peterson High School received a $3,000 School Residency grant for Two-day Workshop and Concert with Professional Jazz Musicians.

Here are the Houston County grant recipients:

  • Chamber Music Live received a $10,000 Arts & Cultural Heritage grant for Apollo Musical Festival 2018.
  • Southeast Minnesota Bluegrass Association received a $3,000 Small Towns/Rural Areas grant for May 2018 Bluegrass Music Festival.

Here are Mower County grant recipients:

  • Austin Area Commission for the Arts received a $5,500 Arts & Cultural Heritage grant for Kids Visual Arts Education 2018.
  • Austin Community Band received a $3,000 Presenter/Production Assistance grant for Summer Concerts in the Park.
  • Austin Symphony Orchestra received a $3,000 Presenter/Production Assistance grant for Sarah Chang - Violin Virtuoso.
  • City of Adams received a $3,000 Small Towns/Rural Areas grant for 150th Anniversary Musical Celebration.
  • Matchbox Children's Theatre received a $3,000 Presenter/Production Assistance grant for The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.

Here is the Winona County recipient:

  • City of Plainview Public Library received a $3,000 Small Towns/Rural Areas grant for Six Appeal Rural Library Residency.

Here are the Winona County recipients:

  • Bluff Country Studio Art Tour received a $3,000 Presenter/Production Assistance grant for Studio Art Tour 2018.
  • Winona State University College of Education received a $3,000 Presenter/Production Assistance grant for Young Writers Conference.
  • Great River Shakespeare Festival received a $10,000 Arts & Cultural Heritage grant for Concerts on the Green 2018 Season.
  • Frozen River Film Festival received a $10,000 Arts & Cultural Heritage grant for Festival Marketing Assistance.
  • Minnesota Marine Art Museum received a $10,000 Arts & Cultural Heritage grant for Water Portraits by Contemporary Artist Mary Solberg.
  • Mid West Music Fest received a $10,000 Arts & Cultural Heritage grant for Festival Production Assistance.
  • Saint Charles Elementary School received a $3,000 School Residency grant for Drawing Deepens Our Understanding of the World Around Us.
  • Theatre du Mississippi received a $10,000 Arts & Cultural Heritage grant for 2018 Productions.
  • Winona Symphony Orchestra received a $10,000 Arts & Cultural Heritage grant for 2018 Children's Concert for 3rd and 4th Graders, and a $4,000 General Operating Support grant for Staffing & Salaries.
