The Fillmore Central Falcons played host to the Lewiston-Altura Cardinals Friday night, and the Cardinals were able to go on a 10-0 run right out of halftime to get a 64-46 win.

The first half was a slow-paced matchup, as both teams were patient on offense, trying to get a good look and shorten the game up. The Cardinals were able to open up an 11-6 lead early.

The Falcons were able to trim the lead a bit, but the Cardinals were able to get in transition late in the half and take a 24-15 lead at the break.

It was a 180-degree flip in terms of pace in the second half. Lewiston-Altura put their foot on the gas and really turned up the tempo, going on a 10-0 run to open up the second half to build a 34-15 lead.

Marcus Weaver was fantastic again, going for a team-high 28 points, including a two-handed dunk. Zach Haugerud and Josh Peters led the way for the Falcons, scoring 13 and 14 points each, respectively.

The 10-0 run was too much for Fillmore Central to overcome, as the Cardinals were able to control the game through the end, with great help from Ben Oevering who was great on the offensive glass in the second half, finishing with 10 points, too.

The Cardinals win takes them to 10-13 on the year, while Fillmore Central fell to 0-23.
