A thrilling back and forth game between Rushford-Peterson and Lewiston-Altura did not disappoint Friday night. From numerous lead changes, dunks and big 3-point shots, the two teams left everything on the floor in this one. The Trojans were able to make more plays down the stretch to get the win 74-65.

Lewiston-Altura took a lead of 21-18 after a Thomas Menk 3 and looked to be in control after that, but the Trojans defense was stout, continuing to make plays and help keep the team in the game. The first half saw six lead changes, while the two teams were tied another eight times in the first half, but the Cardinals were able to take the lead into the break after Gunner Reed hit a 3 at the buzzer, giving Lewiston-Altura a 35-32 lead at halftime.

The Cardinals continued to use their athletism to run the floor in transition, and cause a lot of problems down the stretch for Rushford-Peterson's offense. The Cardinals opened their lead up to eight at 48-40 with 14 minutes to go in the game, but the Trojans weren't going anywhere.

Rushford-Peterson cut the lead down to one with just over six minutes to play, and then it was back and forth again, as Marcus Weaver started to attack the rim and get the Cardinals offense going a bit. Trailing 65-60, the Trojans were able to go on a 6-0 run to take a 61-60 lead.

That lead wouldn't hold, as Lewiston-Altura actually took the lead of 63-61, but R-P was able to tie it up at 63 after two clutch free-throws from Justin Ruberg. Landon Skalet then hit a big 3 with 1:12 to go, giving the Trojans a lead they would never relinquish.

Luke O'Hare led the Trojans with 24 points, while Skalet added in 17 and Ruberg had  12 to go along with 11 rebounds. Weaver led the Cardinals with 27 points, while Reed added in 17.

It was a fun game with many big plays, but the Trojans were able to close things out at the free throw line to secure the win and move on to 12-5 on the season, while the Cardinals fell to 7-10.
