The Rushford-Peterson Trojans defeated the Chatfield Gophers in girls basketball 49-36 on KFIL Thursday night. It was a close game early, but the Trojans used a 15-8 run to take a 25-17 lead into the break, giving them enough cushion to take home the victory.

Macy Pederson was great for the Gophers, as she had 11 of the teams 17 first-half points. Mariah Bell contributed the other six points. The Trojans were led by Briana Koop with 11 points, and Mikalya Crawford who had nine.

The Trojans continued to play well in the second half, as they never relinquished the lead. The lead got extended to 10 early in the second half, and the Gophers were never able to cut the lead back to single digits. Rushford-Peterson outscored Chatfield 49-36 en route to a 49-36 victory.
