Who could forget the song about  "status symbol land"?  In 1967, The Monkees album "Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Jones Ltd" rose to #1 on the charts and was certified gold.  It was the fourth album to be certified gold for Peter Tork, Michael Nesmith, Davy Jones and Mickey Dolenz, those rascal Monkees.  Prior gold albums for the group included their debut album "The Monkees", "More Of The Monkees" and "Headquarters".  Getting back to the album at hand, Pisces etc., contained such hits as "Salesman", "Love Is Only Sleeping", the aforementioned "Pleasant Valley Sunday" and one of my favorite The Monkees tunes, "Don't Call On Me".  Feel like taking a step back in time?  Check out "Pleasant Valley Sunday"  here.  Doesn't it remind you of Sunday's in your hometown in days gone by?  Also December 2 1967, The Monkees "Daydream Believer" became their third #1 single, as sung by every teenage girls crush, Davy Jones.  Davy passed away February 29, 2012 of a massive heart attack at the age of 66.  Peter is now 74 years of age; Mickey age 71 and Michael Nesmith age  73.
