Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - For the second straight year, Rochester is on top of a list of the Best Places to Live by the website Liveability.com.

The report points to the city’s high-quality healthcare and robust economy due to being home to the world-famous Mayo Clinic. The website also describes Rochester as an entrepreneurial powerhouse with affordable housing and a diversity of businesses and activities to entertain residents and visitors. The report also highlights the Destination Medical Center Initiative and the explosive growth it is expected to create.

Livability.com says 40 data points are used to determine the rankings. Those data points were grouped into nine categories: economics, housing, education, health care, infrastructure, demographics, social and civic capital, infrastructure and amenities.

Iowa City was ranked number two this year, while Madison, Wisconsin, is listed eighth. Apart from Rochester, the highest-ranked Minnesota city is Woodbury at 26th. Edina appears at number 36, St. Paul is ranked 40th, Duluth is 74th, and Eagan is 89th.
