Have you driven through Preston during the holiday season and noticed the lights twinkling at Goose Flat Park?  Wonder how they magically appeared?  Give thanks to the Preston Lions Club.   Preston Lions are very active in the community, doing much more than most people are aware.  In addition to decorating Goose Flat Park in the winter, throughout the summer months they tend to the park planting, weeding and mowing.  You'll find the Lions serving a pancake breakfast at the United Methodist Church Saturday morning of Trout Days, and later in the afternoon hosting Bingo at The Club.

You'll often find the Lions at Fillmore Central Elementary School helping staff with the daycare program; cooking for Breakfast with Santa; and making gingerbread houses with the pre-schoolers.

The Lions purchased dictionaries for FC third graders and helped sponsor a trip to Eagle Bluff for seventh grade students.  Recently they helped with the Easter egg hunt.

These examples of community service are just the tip of the iceberg.  If you want to learn more about Preston Lions Club, you're welcome to attend one of their meetings held at F&M Community Bank the third Monday of the month.  For a small charge you can enjoy dinner served at 6:30, or just attend the meeting starting at 7 p.m. There is always a fascinating guest speaker and a fun game of Tail Twister.  Preston Lions Club is always looking for new members, so stop by!
