Rochester, MN (KROC AM News ) - Talk about good timing for those involved in the Spring Flood Run.

The weekend weather forecast for southern Minnesota calls for dry conditions and June-like temperatures in the 70’s. This is good news for those taking part in the 51st annual Run in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Thousands of motorcyclists are expected to cruise on both sides of the Mississippi River Saturday and Sunday.

On the Minnesota side, most of the riders will cruise between the Twin Cities and Winona. It was cooler for last year’s run.

The Flood Run has been a charity event since twelve bikers from the Twin Cities rode to Winona to help the city in its fight against the historic flooding of the Mississippi River in 1965. Money raised by the official sponsors is donated to Gillette Children's Hospital in St.Paul.
