Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  Longtime Rochester Lourdes High School Athletic Director Marv Peters has announced his plans to retire at the end of the current school year, which will be next June.

Peters made the announcement at Friday night’s Lourdes Homecoming Football Game. Peters has been the school’s AD for 43 years. He was hired by the Catholic school in 1972 and was named athletic director two years later.

During his long run as AD, Lourdes teams won 43 state championships, which ranks the school 8th of all Minnesota high schools. Lourdes has also won 30 state second place awards, 18 third place awards, 11 consolation championships and numerous other state appearances, for a total of 161 state trophies.
