How about a few state records to make you feel better about yours

Could you get the sarcasm there. We all have had that one fish, bigger then the rest. How do they stack up against the Minnesota State Records.

These are coming right from the Minnesota DNR website, so here you go. Its not the entire list, but if you want to see the entire list head to the Minnesota DNR website.

Largemouth Bass was 23 1/2 inches and weighed 8lbs 15 ozs. That is a HUGE bass.

Smallmouth was 8 lbs. The length was not known

The Common Carp was 42 inches and weighed 55 lbs 5 ozs. I have caught a few big carp in my day, but they look small compared to that

Brown Trout was 31 3/8 inches

Brook Trout was 21 inches

Walleye was 35 3/4 inches and weighed 17 pounds.

So the next time you head out fishing, and you catch a monster, remember these records. You can head to the Minnesota DNR website and even register your fish as long as it is a record.

But have a look, and get those boats out. You never know when that bite will happen.
