The Houston Hurricanes and Lanesboro Burros were in a tough battle Friday night, but the running game of the Hurricanes became too much for the Burros to handle as the Hurricanes came away with a 44-14 win in Houston.

Turnovers were a key in this game, as the Hurricanes forced a turnover on their own one-yard line to stop the Burros from scoring on their opening possession. Then, Houston scored on a 43-yard screen back fro Mikkel Shutte to Wyatt Walters. Walters was a beast all night, totaling  243 total yards and two scores to lead Houston.

Houston built a 12-0 lead before Lanesboro found the paydirt on a Seth Semmen touchdown run to make it 12-6.

Late in the half, the Burros intercepted Shutte, but on the next play snapped the ball over the head of QB Semmen and gave the ball right back into the hands of the Hurricanes, who capitalized to score again.

It was a low scoring affair in the first half, but the Hurricanes came running in the second half. Walters took his first carry of the second half 38 yards for a touchdown to build that lead back up to three possessions, then Shuttle ran two in on the QB sneak to help the Hurricanes take the win.

J.T Rein was great for Lanesboro, who moved the ball well on the ground, he finished with 119 yards, with 105 of them coming in the first half.

The Houston offense was great, but the defense really stepped up in the second half and shut down a good Burro running game.

Shutte finished 7-of-11 for 125 yards and two scores, and also ran two scores in, while Semmen was 7-of-15 for 63 yards and a touchdown.

The Houston defense was great and the offense made the ground game work to move to 2-1 while the Burros fall to 1-2.
