The Houston Hurricanes and the Lanesboro Burros were in a tough battle Friday night, and the Hurricanes were able to make big shots down the stretch to get a 56-51 win in Lanesboro Friday night.

It was a strange week with many games canceled and teams out of routine, but both the Hurricanes and the Burros brought it Friday night. Lanesboro controlled much of the first half behind solid play from Greysen Higbe-Harrah, who had nine of his 11 points in the first half. The Burros took a 15-13 lead with 8 minutes to play in the half, and ended with a 33-26 lead at the break.

Houston then extended their defense out, and James Hongerholt went to work in the post, scoring 10 of his 14 points in the second half, along with Caiden Danielson who hit two big shots late in the game to help Houston get back into this one.

Tied at 42, the Burros and Hurricanes traded buckets on five straight possessions, including threes from Carson Schwichtenberg, Sawyer Johnson and Andrew Luck for Lanesboro, and a three from Danielson. The Burros lead 51-45 lead, but the Hurricanes finished on an 11-0 run to get the win, 56-51.

Danielson finished with 18 to lead Houston, while Lanesboro was led by Schwichtenberg's 17. Johnson added 14 for the Burros. Houston is now 8-9 after the win, while Lanesboro falls to 5-12.
