Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News) - The man who led authorities on a wild high-speed chase from Zumbrota into Rochester in March has worked out a plea agreement with prosecutors in Goodhue County.

30-year-old Ryan Vangness of Canton pleaded guilty Friday to a felony charge of fleeing a peace officer. In exchange, a felony drug charge and two misdemeanor counts were dropped.

Vangness was sentenced to four months in jail and three years on probation.

He was arrested in the early morning hours of March 14th after he drove at speeds exceeding 100 miles an hour while trying to elude officers during a 30 mile-long chase that ended after his car crashed into a utility pole near Silver Lake Park.

Court records show Vangness has a long criminal history of traffic violations and other crimes, including police chases.
