The Grand Meadow Superlarks defeated the Mabel-Canton Cougars 80-64 behind a huge showing from Connor King, who led the Superlarks with 39 points on KFIL Tuesday night.

Grand Meadow grabbed a lead early, jumping out to a 15-9 lead. The Cougars were not going anywhere, though, as they were able to trim the lead back to two at 15-13. The Superlarks then took control of the game behind King,

The Cougars looked to make it close, closing the lead to one with eight second left in the first half, but King banked in a three at the buzzer, giving the Superlarks a 35-31 lead at the half. It was a huge momentum swing, as the Superlarks jumped out to a 46-36 lead early in the second half, and went on from there.

King had a double-double as he grabbed an unofficial 11 rebounds, knocked down seven 3s and did a great job of driving into the lane to get easy looks at the rim. He was fantastic for the Superlarks, and a big reason they got the victory.

The Cougars went to Blake Henry early and often, as he collected 18 points and an unofficial 10 rebounds for a double-double. Drew Wyffels played well for the Cougars, too, tailling a team-high 19 points.

The Superlarks just did a better of putting the ball in the hoop, as the Cougars struggled to make shots early in the second half. As the game went on, the Cougars were able to start to make some shots, but King was playing so well, it was just too late for the Cougars to get back in the game.
