St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Governor Mark Dayton has signed an executive order extending state assistance to areas of Minnesota hit by flooding following the torrential rains of last week.

The order directs the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and the Department of Homeland Security to assist in the cleanup and with repairs to the public infrastructure in 20 counties across central and southern Minnesota. The list includes Olmsted, Dodge, Fillmore, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Wabasha and Winona Counties in southeastern Minnesota.

Waseca, MN (Learfield Wire Service) - Estimates of flood damage are rising in Waseca. The Mankato Free Press reports that Waseca County Emergency Management says the county's assessment has doubled since last week's heavy rain, with at least 75 percent of the homes in the area damaged by flooding.

A line nearly 200 yards long of trucks and cars filled with wet carpets, furniture and waterlogged televisions and appliances was lined up Monday at the city's debris dump site.
