Preston, MN  (KROC AM News) - The public is invited to Sunday’s dedication ceremony involving Minnesota’s newest State Veterans Cemetery.

It’s located in Preston and is only the second state-run veterans cemetery in Minnesota. The other one is in Little Falls.

The cemetery was completed last year and the first burials at the site were two former mayors of Preston. The burials took place last Veterans Day.

Sunday’s dedication event will be hosted by the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs. It will include special music by the Red Bull Brass Quintet, a flag line by the Rochester Patriot Guard, flyovers of World War II aircraft and a rifle salute. Governor Mark Dayton and First District Congressman Tim Walz are among the expected speakers.

The program is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

Limited seating is available and guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
