Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester resident was transported to St. Mary's hospital last night after the deck on the back of a home collapsed.

The Rochester Fire Department today reported that crews responded to a home in the 900 block of 23rd Street SE around 9:15 PM after receiving a report of a deck collapse and found a resident of the home trapped and injured on the collapsed structure. The firefighters deployed structure stabilizing equipment to secure the deck before removing the injured party, who was handed over to paramedics and brought to the emergency room by ambulance.

The injured person's name has not been released and information about the extent of the individual’s injuries is not yet available. The damage from the collapse was confined to the deck and was estimated at about $5000.
