When tragedy hits in Minnesota, no matter how big or small the town, we come together and we do what we can to help. That's who we are, and some kids in Hayfield are showing us that right now with a benefit for Anthony Reid's family this weekend. Anthony passed away unexpectedly this past weekend (see our news story here), and while law enforcement is investigating, the Sheriff says it looks like a tragic case of natural causes.

The Hayfield - Brownsdale Cub Scout Pack 50 is boosting their annual Pinewood Derby this Saturday with a Pinewood Derby and Pulled Pork Meal to help Anthony's family. It starts at 10 and'll run 'til 7. On their Facebook page, they said,

Anthony was a 4th grader at Hayfield Elementary who passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning. He was a great kid and we would like to help his mom and brother as much as we can through this difficult time.

The meal will cost $7 and they'll accept free will donations. If you can't make it and would still like to donate to the family, there's an account set up at Citizens State Bank in Hayfield. Stop by or mail your donation to P.O. Box 5 Hayfield, MN 55940. Checks payable to Anthony Reid Benefit.

One more note...the Girl Scouts will be having a bake sale during the benefit.
