It turned out to be a wild, windy evening in Preston. The skies began darkening around 5 p.m., winds picked up, and up, and up. And the rains came. And the trees and power lines fell. I watched the tree in my back yard with fear; it's not the most stable tree and I expected it to topple. It was spared, just losing a few branches.

Many residents in Preston were not so lucky, including my across-the-street neighbors, both losing big trees. Here are a few pictures I snapped while driving around town. Even KFIL took a little hit. Hopefully everyone is safe and sound as I write this. Bless our utility workers as they face a daunting task tomorrow morning.
