Commonweal Theatre Company proudly presents the 19th annual Ibsen Fest April 15-17, 2016 in Lanesboro.  Ibsen Fest is a salute to the man often times called the "Father of Modern Drama".  Being an election year, Ibsen Fest will offer exhibits, plays, and forums with a political theme.  Throughout the weekend, dine on Scandinavian food at Old Village Hall, Intermission and Pedal Pushers Cafe.  Exhibits include the works of political cartoonist Kevin Siers Political Satire: The Lies that tell the Truth, and a wonderful display of political memorabilia from the personal collection of Paul Bengston of Minneapolis.

Commonweal Theatre will present "The League of Youth" by Henrik Ibsen as adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher.  Perfect for election year, "The League of Youth" is "a thought-provoking comedy that's sure to feel shockingly familiar".  Performances are Friday and Saturday night at 7:30, and Sunday afternoon at 1:30.  Commonweal Theatre will also host Kaffepause, Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering coffee and Scandinavian treats. Doesn't that sound delicious?

Sunday morning at 9 attend a Norwegian-English worship service at Lanesboro's Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Ibsen Fest is a wonderful weekend celebrating everything Scandinavian and honoring Henrik Ibsen.  Complete schedule of events available at www.ibsenfest.org or www.commonwealtheatre.org.  Commonweal Theatre box office number 800-657-7025.
