A quick first-half lead and some stellar defense to hold off a late surge from Proctor helped push the Caledonia Warriors to the Class AA Girls State Basketball Semifinals with a 56-44 win.

The Warriors were led by senior Katie Tornstrom, who finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds, while senior Ashley Schroeder added 13 to help lead the Warriors offense that jumped out to a 12-4 lead quickly in the first half, and carried a 31-22 lead into the half.

Proctor cut lead Warriors' lead down to four with 12:38 to play at 34-30, but scoring was tough to come by for the Rails the remainder of the game. Caledonia was able to tighten up defensively and hit key free throws down the stretch.
