Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Byron man who drove off after causing a traffic wreck at the Highway 14/52 interchange in NW Rochester Monday later called police and was arrested for DUI and other charges.

Police Capt. Casey Moilanen says 28-year-old Trevor Harden literally crashed his SUV into the other vehicle around 6:30 PM.

Harden was turning from Highway 14 to the southbound Highway 52 lane when he collided with the car that was eastbound on Highway 14. The car ended on its side. A 26-year-old Byron woman was driving the car.

Harden later contacted police from a convenience store a few miles away. Moilanen says he told officers he did not see the approaching car because of the sun and panicked. He also said he went to his grandfather’s home and drank four beers before calling police.

Moilanen says Harden failed a field sobriety test and was arrested. It was also learned his driver’s license was revoked.
