The Lanesboro Burros boys basketball team earned the season sweep of the Houston Hurricanes by winning 68-42 at Houston. Both games between the teams were broadcast on KFIL. This night was Parents Night, so we were a bit delayed to start the broadcast.

Lanesboro got the scoring going in the first half on a three-pointer by Cole Schwichtenberg. Then Collin Scott got inside, hitting a free throw and a field goal, and Carson Schwichtenberg added a bucket for an 8-0 Burros lead. After Houston made one free throw, the first field goal by the Hurricanes came from Noah Carney. Lanesboro hit five first half Threes, and a late 8-0 run in the half extended their lead to 39-25 at the break.

In the second half, Carson Schwichtenberg hit a couple more treys (he hit 5 in the game) to extend the lead on the way to a 9-0 run to start the second half. Lanesboro was able to pull away and earn the 68-42 victory.

KFIL Subway Player of the Game for the Houston Hurricanes was Tyler Albrecht. Coming off the bench, Tyler got contact and sank 4 free throws in the first half, keeping the scoring happening for Houston.

For the Lanesboro Burros, I gave away Co-Players of the Game. Cole Schwichtenberg led the way in scoring with 22 points and a number of steals and rebounds. Collin Scott scored 13 in the game, with steals, work on the offensive glass, and a blocked shot.

The Kingsley Mercantile Game Ball went to Brady Johnson. Coming off the bench, Johnson set a number of screens to get teammates open and offense moving, did work on the offensive glass, including a putback, and scored 5 in the game.
