After taking Set 1 in impressive fashion, the Bulldogs fell to a very talented Kasson-Mantorville team in the Section 1AA final Saturday afternoon, 3-1.

The Bulldogs were great in the first set, getting great play from Lauren Boyum and Hayley Dessner in the first set, and they were able to attack form multiple angles to get the 25-20 set win. P-E-M led for a majority of the set, and the Komets never really looked like they had a chance to come back in that set.

Set 2, was a different story as the Bulldogs jumped out to a hot start and an 8-3 lead. The Komets came back to tie it up at 10, and then tied again at 12 and 13. K-M took the lead 13-12, and held the lead to a 25-20 win. Peyton Suess and Emille Terry played important roles in evening it up at 1 set apiece.

Set 3, the Bulldogs never held a lead as K-M was able to slow down the Bulldog offense, and take the win 25-17. In Set 4, it was a 16-0 run in the middle of the set by K-M that really took it out of reach, winning 25-9.

The Bulldogs played with a ton of effort and energy in the 1AA Section final, but once the Kasson-Mantorville offense got rolling, it was too tough to stop.

The Bulldogs had a phenomenal season, finishing up with a record of 24-9.
