Despite a bit of rain, there was a lot going on and plenty of fun Thursday at Spring Valley A&W's End of the Summer Cruise Night. During my remote broadcast, I said I was at the A&W, but I was actually hanging out here, there, and even across the road to see all the cars! (I didn't see all of them). There were great stories from car owners, as many had worked with their fathers to fix up their classics.  New A&W owner, Tom, estimated just over 300 cars cruised in.  Vintage vehicles were parked at Sunshine Foods, Kuehn Motors, Spring Valley Greenhouse and of course, the A&W.  The smell of burgers grilling and chicken broasting would spark anyone's appetite.  A lot of happy folks enjoyed delicious A&W food and root beer floats.  Hundreds of spectators came for the food and to check out the cars. Crossing guards were positioned on the highway to help direct traffic and keep things moving safely.   It was also a great time to donate and find out more about Toys For Tots.  It's a wonderful organization.  I believe there is a box for toy donations year round at the Spring Valley A&W.  Kathy Simpson, my co-worker, Ilene, and I drew names and handed out dozens of prizes including hubcap clocks, Twins tickets, gas cards and a whole lot more!

It was a fun time, and the rain didn't put too much of a damper on things. I hope to see you there next year!
