103.1 KFIL’s Year In Pictures
Another year has come and gone, and 2018 was a great one. It all started out with a Minneapolis Miracle as the Minnesota Vikings topped the New Orleans Saints, and we wrapped it up with another trip to U.S Bank Stadium and some State Football as two state championships came back to Southeast Minnesota.
Winter (Jan - March) - How we can forget the Minneapolis Miracle? It will live in infamy when it comes to the Minnesota Vikings. Now, we all know that the season ended far from expectations, but for that moment it seemed like the history of the Vikings was thrown out the window and we had our miracle. Also, we found ourselves at Mayo Civic Center for some great playoff basketball along with a trip up to the Twin Cities for the Boys State Basketball Tournament as Caledonia came in 2nd place and Rushford-Peterson ended up in 6th.
Spring (April - June) - A kickoff to summer that saw some great baseball played and a tremendous showing from Rushford-Peterson in two tough games at State Baseball. Also, we can't forget Dairy Night on the Farm, Trout Days in Preston, Meadowfest Parade and the kickoff to Twins Baseball
Summer (July - Sept) - Summer was oh so busy and a lot of fun! From the Fillmore County Fair, the 103.1 KFIL Ag Appreciation Breakfast, The Rose Creek Fun Days Car Show, Spring Valley Crusin' Night at the A&W, Deer Creek Speedway and much more! It was a blast all summer long and before you know it we saw kids back in school and fall sports back underway!
Fall (Oct. - December) - Okay, it mostly feels like winter this time of year but you get the just of it. We wrapped up 2018 with State Football at U.S Bank Stadium with championships for Spring Grove and Caledonia, the start of an already exciting 2018-19 basketball season and a KFIL Country Christmas to get you ready for the holiday season! Let's not forget playoff Volleyball and Football that saw some great matches at Mayo Civic Center and in the section finals!
We hope you all had a great 2018 and we look forward to many more memories to be made and fun to be had in 2019!
