1844-Stillwater's First Sawmil, cut its first boards and stayed cutting for over 60 years. The owner, John McKusick
1917-Mayor Louis A. Fritshe holds a meeting at the New Ulm Armory to support the US Neutrality in WW1
1924-Minnesota Industrialist Lewis S. Gillette dies at his home near Natchez, Mississippi. Gillette Graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1876 with a bachelor degree in both science and engineering.
1930-James H. Doolittle, touring with his Shell Oil Company Plane, visits St. Paul in 1942.
1992-Former Governor Harold LeVander dies at age 82. He served as governor from 1967-1971.
