U of M Athletics Director Suddenly Resigns
Minneapolis, MN (KROC AM News) -The University of Minnesota is looking for a new Athletics Director.
U of M President Eric Kaler announced Friday morning he had accepted the resignation of Gopher AD Norwood Teague, effective immediately. Teague was hired by Kaler in April 2012. Kaler is expected to discuss the situation at a noon hour news conference.
According to KARE TV, Teague has taken responsibility for his actions, which involved some recent sexual harassment complaints. He told a KARE reporter that he "had too much to drink and sent inappropriate texts." He says the incident happened at a U of M event about two weeks ago. He also told the reporter he will seek help for his alcohol use and is "reevaluating my life and career."
