Little Falls, MN (KROC-AM News) - The National Weather Service says an EF-1 tornado was to blame for significant damage at Camp Ripley in central Minnesota Wednesday night.

The twister, with maximum winds of around 90 miles per hour, touched down around 10:30 p.m and was on the ground for almost 8 miles.

The Minnesota National Guard reported major damage to several buildings and a portion of a large solar power array that was nearing completion was destroyed. The National Weather Service says the storm also uprooted trees and overturned a number of vehicles, but no injuries were reported.

A complete report on the storm damage is still be compiled.
