Suspected Drug Money Found During Traffic Stop in Minnesota
Moorhead, MN (Learfield Wire Services) - The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate, after arresting a car driver near Moorhead with $100,000 in suspected drug money.
Officials say a trooper found $85,000 in a shoe box and suitcase in the trunk -- and another 15 grand in a suitcase on the back seat.
The 34-year-old driver told troopers he sold sports items, and later claimed to be a professional gambler.
The man was arrested about seven miles from the North Dakota border in the far northwest part of Minnesota. A search warrant affidavit says the man was driving from California to see a man linked to a narcotics investigation in Fargo, North Dakota.
