Submitted by Ben Aberg.  Last night we brought you high school volleyball action on your good time oldies station Cool 104! For this SEC rivalry, the Grand Meadow Superlarks took the drive to LeRoy to take on the LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals. Talking with both coaches, it was apparent these were two different teams from what they were last year, but a tough battle was still expected. The Cardinals scored the first couple points in the first set, but after a bit of back and forth and some great effort all around the courts, the Superlarks enjoyed a 17-4 to come back and close out the first set 25-16. Set number 2 again saw the home Cardinals strike first in a game that would see at least 10 ties. After being tied 8-8, LeRoy-Ostrander went on a 7-0 run. An 8-1 Grand Meadow run took the lead away and we were back to our back-and-forth ways. The home team had a few chances to finish out their rivals and had a nice deflection and unexpected bump over that was good to put them ahead by one late. Before a LeRoy-Ostrander set point, the Superlarks called timeout and came back again to defeat the Cardinals 27-25 in set 2. The 3rd set was back and forth early, with 4 ties, but Grand Meadow went on a 14-3 run, including a 10-0 run, with Kaitlyn Hilton delivering 4 straight ace serves. The Cardinals could not come back, and Grand Meadow had the sweep: 25-16, 27-25, 25-14.

For the LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals, there were a few players to choose from that served and attacked and were active all over the floor, but the Subway Player of the Game for the Cardinals was Emily Servick. For Grand Meadow, Jordyn Glynn was a big factor, with a number of attacks and a couple ace serves, so Jordyn received Subway Player of the Game honors for the Superlarks. For the Kingsley Mercantile Game Ball, we give the award to Kaitlyn Hilton. She had a good night attacking and also a great night serving, keeping the momentum going for the Superlarks in the 3rd set with 9 straight successful serves and 4 ace serves in that stretch. It was a hard fought match for both teams and congratulations to all the award winners.
