Spring is right around the corner. Well, actually, it is pretty much already here. Aren't you getting the itch to go outside and explore? I know I am! According to THIS post from the Pioneer Press, Southeast Minnesota landed three on the list of the least-visited State Parks in Minnesota. These parks are just some hidden gems! Here are the three parks that made the cut:

Beaver Creek Valley in Caledonia

This park has year-round trout fishing. What more could you want?! The State Park is 1,216 acres, and also has plenty of camping options. According to the DNR's website, this park highlights camping, hiking, bird watching, trout fishing and spring woodland flowers.

Carley in Plainview

This park could be called Whitewater State Park's little sibling. The 209-acre park is located by the north branch of the Whitewater River. According to the DNR's website, the park highlights camping, fishing/trout stream, hiking, spring wildflowers and bluebells in May.

Lake Louise in LeRoy

It is Minnesota oldest, continuous, recreation area. The 1,176-acre park is near the Iowa border, but includes many facilities for much fun! According to the DNR website, the park highlights canoeing on Lake Louise, horse trails and a swimming beach!

These are just a couple of state parks in Southeast Minnesota that are probably just a short drive from you home! How sweet is that? You can check out the entire list right here.
