There have been some high profile crimes that have shown up on social media venues such as Facebook and Instagram over the past year or so.

The Cleveland killer, the man professing his murderous intentions in Wisconsin, and that's just the past week.  It's provided law enforcement with many clues, but it has also created many problems.  At a crime scene or even a police traffic stop, some citizens feel the need to reach for the cell camera to record the proceedings.

On KROC AM this past week, Rochester Police Chief Roger Peterson talked about these issues and what he's instructed his officers to do..

Rochester officers have body cams now  and dash cams on squad cars have been in use for some time.  It's almost impossible to not have at least some video of an event or incident these days.
