Undated (KROC AM News) - It’s not exactly what Christmas holiday travelers want to hear.

Snow is expected across southeastern Minnesota Friday with 1 - 3 inches possible.

It will be dry during the day on Saturday but then another winter storm is taking aim at the Upper Midwest and is expected to make its arrival that evening and intensify Sunday. A mix of rain, sleet, freezing rain and snow is expected across a large part of the southern half of the state. Up to an inch of rain could fall in the southeastern corner of Minnesota by Sunday evening as temperatures warm into the 40’s in some areas.

It will be a much different story in northwest Minnesota and North Dakota where another blizzard may develop. The National Weather Service is only forecasting heavy snow in the storm zone and has not yet made snowfall predictions. But, there is a chance that a foot or more of snow could fall in the Grand Forks area and parts of northwest Minnesota.

Here is the latest forecast from the NWS/LaCrosse.
