Where two years ago comedian and 'Louie' star Louis C.K. had his first 'SNL' hosting and promos marred by the onset of Hurricane Sandy, his March 29 return looks to be much smoother sailing. The first promos for this Saturday's 'SNL' return have arrived, wherein the revered comedian jokes with Kenan Thompson about his 'Louie' "character," and the initials of his last name.

Setting up shop in the 'SNL' control room with Thompson, the relatively demure promos play up C.K.'s straight-man persona, much as the comedian tends to portray himself on FX's 'Louie,' rather than any kind of character. Accompanying Louis C.K. for the second hosting gig will be musician Sam Smith, who hadn't originally been announced when we first learned C.K. will return.

Meanwhile, April 5 will see first-time host Anna Kendrick partnered with Pharrell, while April 12 will see Seth Rogen marking his third ‘SNL’ hosting turn with musical guest Ed Sheeran. Hopefully C.K. will start things off on the right note, as the early March ‘SNL’ installments understandably suffered a bit with the loss of new ‘Late Night‘ host Seth Meyers, even with head writer Colin Jost taking the Weekend Update alongside Cecily Strong.

Well, what do you think? Was Louis C.K. strong enough in his first outing to merit a repeat appearance? Check out the first promos of the comedian's 'SNL' return above, and tell us in the comments what you want to see from the final leg of the season!
