The Minnesota Twins presented a check for $5,000 dollars to KROC-AM and a collaboration of the Southeastern Minnesota Miracle Field and Rochester Youth Baseball Association during Wednesday evening's Twins Caravan stop in Rochester.

The funding from the Twins Community Fund was awarded to KROC-AM in recognition of the Rochester radio station being named the 2014 Twins Radio Affiliate of the Year with the understanding the money would benefit a local baseball-related non-profit program.

Team Up! is a new program developed by the Miracle Field and the Rochester Youth Baseball Association (RYBA) that matches youth baseball players with Miracle Field athletes for fun activities on and off the field. It began last year and brought RYBA players to the Miracle Field in Rochester one evening a week during the summer to assist the Miracle Field players in their games at the specially designed ballpark in the Watson Sports Complex in northwest Rochester.

The goal this year, with help from the Twins Community Fund, is to expand the program to include more RYBA players and incorporate activities away from the baseball diamond to provide additional opportunities for mentoring and friendship.
