MN Brothers Admit Chasing, Shooting Deer From Pickup Truck
Two brothers from southwest Minnesota have pleaded guilty to illegally killing a deer last year - by shooting it from a moving vehicle.
A witness told a DNR conservation officer that 53 year old Steven Joens had chased the deer with a pickup truck on a rural road. The witness said 45 year old Eric Joens shot the 8 point buck.
The officer later located the brothers and the deer and the two were charged in Nobles County Court.
They recently pleaded guilty and were fined $1,000 and lost their hunting privileges for three years.
They were also ordered to pay $500 restitution for the deer and forfeit the shotgun that was used to kill the animal.
