If you work at Mayo Clinic, here's good news, starting in January!

Mayo Clinic's Rochester campus, which employs around 43,000 people, has announced its relaxing portions of its dress code starting in 2018.

According to a post in the Med City Beat, the new changes are set to take effect on January 1st, 2018 and include the following:

The new set of rules will for the first time permit visible tattoos — though the organization "reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of visible body art" — while eliminating other wardrobe restrictions, such as one that had prohibited employees from wearing fleece jackets, the story said.

The story went on to say the changes were approved by Mayo's Board of Governors and its People and Culture Committee earlier this fall.

It also said that the change allows some departments, where interaction with patients is rare or non-existent, to adhere to a "modified business casual option," or take part in a casual Friday dress code, the story noted-- though employees should still check with their supervisors for specific details.
