KROC-AM is celebrating 80 years of serving the Rochester area. The KROC transmitter was fired up and the microphones went "live" on September 30th, 1935, bringing Rochester its first radio station.

To mark the anniversary, KROC-AM is replaying some of our most historic broadcasts from the past eight decades each Monday morning right after the 8 o'clock news. We'll also be sharing those broadcast memories through the KROC-AM website, YouTube Channel, and Facebook.

The first episode of "KROC's Monday Morning Memories - Celebrating 80 Years" featured a "mock" tour of Rochester in 1939 that included wonderful descriptions of many of the community's landmarks and features during the pre-war years.
