Uber may be available in Rochester before winter's gone.  The ride-share service was approved in its first reading at last night's Rochester City Council meeting.

City Council President Randy Staver talked about it Tuesday morning with Rich Peterson and Kim David on Rochester's Good Morning on KROC AM.

It's not a done deal yet.  Uber can opt out if it doesn't get the right number of applicants.

The Council will likely make the final approval at the next meeting on the 19th and then it's up to Uber to make the hires, do the background checks, etc.
