Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Minnesota law officers arrested nearly 1400 drivers for DWI during a statewide enforcement campaign that ran from Aug 17 through Labor Day.

Numbers from Olmsted County show 25 drivers were arrested during the crackdown.

Statistics show Minnesotans may be more aware of the dangers of drinking and driving. In the 1960’s, more than half of all traffic deaths were related to drinking and driving. In 2016, drunk driving-related deaths made up 19 percent of all traffic fatalities in Minnesota.
