The Minnesota Golden Gopher mens' basketball team fell to Michigan State on Tuesday night to start BIG Ten action. The Gophers led by 13 in the first half, but could not close it out.

For the Gophers, Nate Mason led the way with 18 points, but couldn't quite get the off-balance jumper to go at the buzzer in regulation. Reggie Lynch fouled out in 11 minutes of action, but a big bright spot for the Gophers was Jordan Murphy setting a career-high with 21 rebounds.

The next time the Gophers play, they will be right here on 104.3 FM, KVGO! So stay tuned for a New Years Day matinee when Minnesota takes on Purdue. Pregame will be 3:00, tipoff at about 3:30!
