Nestled in southeastern Houston County is the tiny town of Eitzen, boasting a population of roughly 250 fine folks. Eitzen's claim to fame is their Family Fun Fest held every year on the Fourth of July. I've never attended the festival, but I've heard it's one of the best celebrations around.

This year the fun starts Monday, July 3, with the huge Tri-State truck and tractor pull featuring hot farm, super stock 4x4 trucks and more exciting classes., July Fourth offers something for everyone! Kiddies can join the pedal tractor pull at 9 a.m. A field class tractor pull starts at 10. The fun lasts all day with a chicken barbecue, BINGO, mutton bustin', and the grand parade at noon. Music with Outback Entertainment at 8. They promise a 'bigger and better" fireworks show at dusk.

Family Fun Fest is sponsored by the Eitzen Lions. I have plans on the Fourth, but if I didn't, I'd probably head over to Eitzen's Family Fun Fest. Will you be going?
