    Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

Guess how old Brenda Lee was when she recorded this song? It was 1958 and she was....13 years old!  When Brenda Lee recorded "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" in 1958, she was only 13 years old. LeAnn Rimes comes to mind when I hear that.

Do You Hear What I Hear?

In 1962 there was a lot of fear driven by the very real possibility of a war with Russia by way of Cuba. It was called the Cuban Missile Crisis, and this song was written as a call for peace at that time. The video is apparently the very first recording of the song.

    Silver Bells

This one is kinda funny. According to Wiki, the song started out as Tinkle Bells. "We never thought that tinkle had a double meaning until Jay went home and his first wife said, 'Are you out of your mind? Do you know what the word tinkle is?'" The word is slang for urination.[4]"

    Dear Mr. Jesus

NOTE: This song deals with child abuse.

One of the most unlikely Christmas hits ever was Dear Mr. Jesus, from 1988. It hit #61 on the Hot 100 in January of '88. It was credited to Powersource (solo Sharon), a contemporary Christian band from Texas. Sharon Batts was the young child's full name.
