The last thing on my mind this morning was my gas meter.  I was more concerned with eating breakfast and resetting my electronics that were flashing due to power blips during the night.  Then thoughts turned to shoveling the end of my driveway so I could get to work.  My gas meter never crossed my mind.  Checking my Facebook page once I got to work, I saw a post from the Minnesota State Fire Marshal.  It stressed how important it is to keep your home or business gas meter clear of ice and snow.  In fact, it could save your life.

Apparently gas and ice build up on gas regulator vents can cause malfunctions and possibly cause a build-up of natural gas, gas leak and/or service disruption. Scary thought, isn't it?
Please take time to brush show and ice off your gas meter.  I know when I get home, I'm going to do so.  Stay safe, friends.
