It may be a sweep, but it was far from easy for the Caledonia Warriors. They took down the Lewiston-Altura Cardinals 25-18, 25-21 and 25-19 in Lewiston last night in a Three Rivers Conference showdown on 103.1 KFIL!

It was three close battles that saw the Warriors come out on top, and it came down to passing. The Warriors were able to work in system and get good swings at the net to help propel them to the win. The Cardinals were forced to scramble on defense and it made it tough for them to get their offense going.

The Cardinals held an early lead in sets one and two, but both times the Warriors were able to capitalize on a couple of key volleys and were able to come and get the victories. Caledonia's Lydia Lange was a big reason for the great production, getting five kills in the first set, while Haley Jennings did a great job of mixing the offense up and creating opportunities for teammates.

Caledonia's Grave Privet was excellent from the service line in the second set and a big reason why the Warriors went on an 8-0 to get the 25-18 win in set one.

The Cardinals were led by Ciarra McNally and Anna Hennessy. Both were great at the net, and McNally, who had seven kills, did a great job of changing direction. Hennessy came in a gave the Cardinals great energy, making a couple of great plays in big situations.

The Warriors were in control for a majority of the third set, as they built a 19-15 lead late that was too much for Lewiston-Altura to overcome.

The Warriors moved to 11-6 on the season with the win while the Cardinals fell to 12-7.
